How to Track Staff Attendance

Step-by-step guide for managers and supervisors

👥 Daily Attendance and Payroll Tracking

Mark attendance daily and build accurate payroll records without spreadsheets. Here's the complete workflow.

  1. Open Staff from the main menu Tap Staff > Attendance. You'll see today's date at the top with all active staff members listed below.
  2. Select the date (if marking past days) By default, today's date is selected. Tap the date picker to change it if you're marking attendance for a previous date.
  3. Mark each staff member's status For each staff name, tap the status button and select: Present, Absent, or Half Day. Changes save instantly. You can see checkmarks confirming each status.
  4. Record shift timings (optional) Optionally enter Check-In Time and Check-Out Time for each staff member. This helps track shift hours and is useful for overtime calculations.
  5. View the monthly attendance report Go to Staff > Monthly Report to see total present days, absences, half days, and leaves for any staff member. This is perfect for payroll calculations and identifying patterns.
💡 Pro Tips:
  • Mark attendance at the start of each shift — takes less than 2 minutes for your entire team.
  • Use Half Day for staff who work partial shifts (e.g., closing shift only).
  • Record shift times consistently — this helps with scheduling and prevents disputes about worked hours.
  • Download the monthly report before paying staff — it's an official record for both parties.

Common Attendance Scenarios

  • Regular staff: Mark Present every shift day they work
  • Partial shift: Mark Half Day if they leave early or come late
  • Day off: Leave blank or mark as Leave (if you have a leave option)
  • Guest staff: Add them as temporary staff, mark their attendance, then archive when done
