Unavakam Mobile Application

Unavakam ("we", "our", or "us") is a restaurant management application that helps restaurant owners, staff, and customers manage menus, orders, feedback, and operations efficiently.

- Account information: name, email address, and mobile phone number used during registration and OTP verification.
- Restaurant information: restaurant name, address, operating hours, menu items, pricing, and categories.
- Order data: items ordered, table numbers, order status, timestamps, and payment amounts.
- Photos and media: images you capture or upload for menu items, combos, category covers, and staff profiles.
- Feedback and ratings: customer-submitted feedback and star ratings.
- Device information: device model, OS version, and unique device identifiers for app stability and support.
- Usage data: feature interactions, session duration, and error logs used to improve the app.
3. Camera Access (android.permission.CAMERA)
Unavakam requests camera access only for user-initiated actions such as:
- Capturing photos of menu items for the digital menu.
- Uploading combo meal images and category cover photos.
- Taking staff profile photos for team management.
- Scanning QR codes for table ordering, where applicable.
Camera access is never used in the background, never accessed without your explicit action, and never used for surveillance.
4. Storage and File Access
Unavakam may request storage access for:
- Selecting existing photos from your gallery for uploads.
- Temporarily caching images for faster menu and dashboard loading.
- Saving exported reports or receipts when you choose to download them.
We do not access personal files, documents, or media unrelated to app functionality.
5. Network and Internet Access
Unavakam uses internet access to:
- Sync orders, menus, and restaurant data in real time with secure backend servers.
- Authenticate users securely via AWS Cognito (OTP-based verification).
- Send email notifications for order confirmations, subscription updates, and support.
- Upload images securely to cloud storage.
- Deliver in-app notifications about orders and updates.
All network communication is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. We do not transmit data over unencrypted connections.
6. Email and Phone Number
- Email: used for account creation, order receipts, subscription invoices, and support communication.
- Phone number: used for OTP-based login verification only.
We do not send unsolicited marketing SMS messages and we do not share your email or phone number with third-party advertisers.
7. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and provide Unavakam core features.
- To authenticate your identity securely.
- To process and display orders in real time.
- To send transactional emails (order status, billing, receipts).
- To analyze anonymized usage patterns and improve app performance.
- To respond to support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
8. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
We may share data with trusted service providers strictly for operating Unavakam:
- AWS (Amazon Web Services): cloud hosting, storage, and authentication (Cognito).
- Email service providers: transactional email delivery only.
All service providers are contractually required to protect your data and are not permitted to use it for unrelated purposes. We may disclose data when required by law or to protect user rights and safety.
9. Data Retention
We retain data while your account is active or as required to deliver services. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where legal retention is required (for example, financial records).
10. Security
We implement industry-standard protections including HTTPS/TLS encryption, AWS Cognito authentication, and access-controlled infrastructure. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we continuously improve our safeguards.
11. Children's Privacy
Unavakam is intended for restaurant businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.

- Access personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your account and associated personal data.
- Withdraw consent for data processing, where applicable.
