Dashboard
Your restaurant's command centre. A real-time overview of today's revenue, active orders, top selling items, and floor status โ all in one view. The Dashboard is the first screen you see when you log in, and it's designed to give you situational awareness of your restaurant in under 10 seconds.
The Purpose of the Dashboard
The Dashboard is a read-only overview screen โ you can't create orders or change settings from here. Its purpose is pure visibility: the moment you open Unavakam, you know the health of your restaurant at a glance. How much revenue have we done today? How many orders are currently active? What's our best seller today? Are any tables occupied right now? You get the answers to all of these without clicking anything.
For owners checking in remotely โ from home, from another branch, on the go โ the Dashboard is even more valuable. A 30-second Dashboard check tells you whether service is running smoothly or whether something needs attention. For on-site managers, the Dashboard is a quick gut-check before walking the floor.
The Four KPI Cards
At the top of the Dashboard, four stat cards show the most important metrics for today (current calendar day, based on your configured timezone):
| Card | What It Shows | How to Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Today's Revenue (โน) | Total amount billed and collected from completed orders today. Updates live as orders are completed and billed. | Compare mentally to your daily target. If it's 6pm and you've hit 80% of your typical day's revenue, you know the evening rush still has potential. If you're at 40% by closing time, it was a slow day โ check the reasons (weather, local event, menu issue). |
| Total Orders Today | Count of all completed orders (dine-in + takeaway + delivery) for today. | Compared to Today's Revenue, this gives you today's Average Order Value (Revenue รท Orders). If orders are high but revenue is lower than expected, your AOV is down โ possibly because high-value items aren't being upsold effectively. |
| Average Order Value (โน) | Today's Revenue รท Today's Total Orders. The average amount per bill today. | Your AOV benchmark โ once you know your typical AOV (e.g. โน450 for a typical Tuesday), you can immediately see if today's AOV is higher (good day, bigger orders) or lower (customers ordering less, possibly due to a limited menu, no recommendations, or economic factors). |
| Top Item Today | The single menu item with the most orders today. | A daily pulse check on what customers are gravitating towards. If your usual top item has been overtaken by a special you introduced this week, that's a strong signal to make the special permanent. |
Revenue Chart
The revenue chart on the Dashboard shows today's revenue plotted as an area or line chart across the current day in hourly segments. The horizontal axis is time (12am to current time); the vertical axis is cumulative or per-hour revenue depending on your display preference. Seeing this chart throughout the day tells you when your revenue spikes happen.
Common patterns you'll recognise after a few weeks: a morning spike (breakfast rush), a midday peak (lunch service), a quiet afternoon dip, and an evening surge (dinner service). These peaks and valleys are your service "shape". When you start to recognise your restaurant's typical shape, deviations become immediately visible โ a smaller-than-normal lunch peak means the lunch service was slow, prompting you to investigate. On Pro plan, the chart also shows comparison overlays (yesterday's performance or last week's same day) so you can immediately see whether today is tracking above or below prior performance.
Active Orders Widget
The Active Orders section on the Dashboard shows a compact list of all currently open (non-completed) orders โ across all tables and all channels. Each row shows the order number or table, the current status (Placed / Preparing / Ready), the number of items, and how long ago it was placed.
This widget is a condensed view of your live floor. At a glance, you can see if any order has been in "Preparing" status for an unusually long time โ an order that's been Preparing for 35 minutes on a table that ordered simple dishes is a red flag that something may be wrong in the kitchen. You don't need to walk to the kitchen or check the KDS screen โ the Dashboard Active Orders widget surfaces this concern immediately.
The Dashboard's active orders update via WebSocket โ this means changes happen in real time without refreshing the page. When a kitchen staff member marks an order Ready on the KDS, the status in the Dashboard Active Orders widget changes immediately, even if you're viewing the Dashboard on a different device in a different room.
Quick Availability Panel
The Quick Availability panel on the Dashboard gives you the fastest way to mark items as unavailable mid-service without navigating to the Menu Items screen. When your kitchen runs out of a specific dish โ "We're out of Mutton Biryani for tonight" โ you can toggle it off directly from the Dashboard panel in one click. The item immediately stops appearing in the order form for floor staff and on the customer digital menu.
The Quick Availability panel shows a short list of your most recently toggled items (or your most commonly sold items) for fast access. For a full availability management view across all items, use the Menu Items screen.
Pro Plan Dashboard Charts
On Pro and Elite plans, the Dashboard includes additional analytics panels:
- Order Type Breakdown: A small pie or stacked bar chart showing today's split between Dine-In, Takeaway, and Delivery orders by count and revenue. Helps you see which channels are contributing how much on any given day.
- Top 5 Items Today: An expanded best-sellers list showing the top 5 items by order count, not just the single top item. Useful for kitchen prep planning and for identifying today's standout performers.
- Tables Status Summary: A compact count showing how many tables are Available vs Occupied vs Reserved. Gives floor managers an instant snapshot of seating capacity without opening the full Tables screen.
